One day courses are a valuable way for old students, who are trying to maintain their sila, to
deepen their practise. New students ie those who have not done a 10-day course with
S.N.Goenka or one of his assistants cannot be accepted on a one-day course.
The timetable of a one-day course is approximately as follows:-
8:45-9:00 a.m.----------------Arrive/Registration
9:00 a.m. ----------------ANAPANA session followed by meditation
11:00 a.m. ----------------VIPASSANA session
12:00-1:00 p.m.---------------Lunch break
(If an assistant teacher is present, you may have an interview at 12:30 p.m.)
1:00-2:30 p.m.-------------- Meditation
2:30-3:30 p.m.----------------Group Sitting
3:30-4:30 p.m.----------------Meditation
4:30-5:00 p.m.----------------METTA session
5:00-5:30 p.m.----------------Noble silence ends, Tea Break
5:30-6:00 p.m.----------------Discourse
6:00 p.m.---------------------Course Ends
Noble silence and all the other rules of a 10-day course are followed,
please reread the Code of Discipline.
What to bring?
Cushions and meditation blanket, you may need an extra blanket during winter as it can be cold.
Food for your own vegetarian lunch (tea is provided)
The course is held at the 85 Ormond Rd Elwood
> (1st Elwood Scout Group).
(this is the same venue as the Wednesday evening group sits).
